Evenepoel had previously indicated that he would like to do the double Giro d’Italia and Tour de France if the Tour route was disappointing. However, after seeing the route, he is now open to doing either race or both.

We were expecting that Remco Evenepoel favors Tour de France over Giro d’Italia in an earlier article. But he recently stated:

“I have already indicated that I would like to do the Giro-Tour combination if the Tour route was disappointing, but I liked what I saw,” Evenepoel said. “I will discuss it with the team and we will make a decision.”

Evenepoel’s program for the 2023 season is still to be determined, but it is likely to include the Vuelta a España. He is also considering riding the Clásica San Sebastián and the Tour de Pologne.

“I will make a decision on my program after the Vuelta,” Evenepoel said. “I want to see how I feel after the race and then make a decision.”

Evenepoel is one of the most promising young riders in the world and is expected to be a major contender for the general classification in both the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France in 2024.
