In an interview with Sportklub, Roglic expressed his confidence in his new team’s potential. “I left the best team in the world and I now have a special challenge: to make BORA-hansgrohe the best team,” he stated.

Roglic acknowledged the uphill battle ahead but remains optimistic about his team’s chances of success. “I know it won’t be easy, but I’m confident that we can make it happen,” he said.

Primož Roglič Cycling History

Primož Roglič, born on October 29, 1989, is a Slovenian professional racing cyclist since 2013. He is a versatile rider who excels in both climbing and time trialing, and he has achieved success at all three Grand Tours.

Roglič was a talented ski jumper in his youth, and he was a member of the Slovenian national team. However, he suffered a serious injury in 2012 that forced him to retire from ski jumping. After his injury, Roglič took up cycling as a way to stay in shape. He quickly showed an aptitude for the sport, and he turned professional in 2013 with the Adria Mobil cycling team.

Roglič’s breakthrough came in 2018 when he won the Vuelta a España, one of the three Grand Tours. He became the first Slovenian rider to win a Grand Tour. Roglič also won four stages of the Vuelta that year, including the iconic climb to Alto de Angliru.

After his Vuelta victory, Roglič established himself as one of the best cyclists in the world. He went on to win the Vuelta a España again in 2019 and 2020, becoming only the third rider to win three consecutive Vueltas. Roglič also won the Giro d’Italia in 2023, becoming the first Slovenian rider to win the race.

In addition to his Grand Tour success, Roglič has also won several other major races, including the Tour de Romandie, Paris-Nice, and Tirreno-Adriatico. He is also a strong time trialist, and he won the gold medal in the men’s individual time trial at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Despite his impressive palmarès, Roglič has also faced some setbacks in his career. He has crashed out of the Tour de France on several occasions, and he has also been plagued by injuries. However, he has always bounced back from these setbacks, and he continues to be one of the most successful cyclists in the world.
