The Jumbo-Visma team had an impressive, historic, and stratospheric season in 2023, and Jonas Vingegaard’s Vélo d’Or award is a fitting conclusion. The Vélo d’Or (French for “Golden Bicycle”), known as the “”little brother”” of the Ballon d’Or, is awarded by Vélo Magazine and has been recognized by riders since 1992.

Vingegaard was unable to attend the ceremony in Paris on Tuesday to receive his trophy, but Jumbo-Visma general manager Richard Plugge was there to represent him. Plugge said that Vingegaard “well deserves this award” and that he is “proud of what he has achieved this year.”
