François Bidard announces the end of his career and his reconversion
After eight years in the professional peloton, François Bidard has announced his retirement. In his press release, he stated that he knows his reconversion: “It is time to turn a beautiful page to open a second one on my second “passion” and “job” as a farmer in a few months, close to my family!”
Bidard, who is from Lonlay-L’Abbaye in the Orne department of France, has a BTS in agriculture and will now be able to work full-time on the family farm.
François Bidard’s career
Bidard began his professional career in 2016 with the AG2R Citroën Team, where he spent two seasons. He then joined Cofidis, Solutions Crédits in 2018, where he remained until the end of his career.
During his career, Bidard achieved several notable results, including:
A victory in the Grand Prix de la Somme in 2019
A stage victory in the Tour of Luxembourg in 2020
A top-10 finish in the overall classification of the Tour of Belgium in 2021
Bidard was also a valuable member of his teams, helping to support his teammates in races such as the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España.
Bidard’s retirement is a loss for the peloton, but he is looking forward to the next chapter in his life. He is grateful for the support of his family and friends, and he is excited to start his new career as a farmer.
